My journey as a breeder.

The road we have followed to get here...

Through my sister and brother in law I was drawn into reptiles when I was about 8 years old. I got my very first reptile, a bearded dragon named Kimbo. He died when I was 14  years old.
After that I didn't have any reptiles for a couple of years.

When I was 19 years old I really wanted to get back into reptiles. So wanting a beginner reptile that could live in a big active enclosure... It didn't take long untill crested geckos came into the picture.

I started this journey in 2018 when I bought a duo of dark based pinstripe harlequins. They where housed seperatly in their own bio-active enclosures as pets.
Since at first I didn't have any breeding plans.

Marshall on the left and Hailey on the right.

I really loved them and they taught me so much about taking care off and breeding with this species.

But when I dove deeper into this species, I saw how different they could look. And at this point in time there where only selective bred phenotypes and the Lilly White gen.
Most of the "hign end" geckos then would be considered as low end by our current standards. But still, I saw the potential and the dream of making something unique with these amazing creatures got a hold of me.

Cooper was my first high end crested gecko. The difference in quality to Marshall and Hailey was pretty clear.
He came from the USA and was produced by Scaredy Cat Geckos out of Chowder and Skittles. Chowder was, and is when writing this story, one of the most famous geckos arround. So I started out pretty strong!

Meet Cooper!

I must say that once I saw the difference in quality... I was hooked! And as you can see, I was a lineage nerd from the start.

So... He’s the one that started it all.

Offcourse Cooper couldn't do it on his own. He needed a nice female to help him carry the weight.

Meet Trinity!

Trinity had lost her third color by the time she joined my project, but her pure white and dark base still made her an absolute beauty!

She is the daughter of probably the most famous OG males out of the UK named Atom. Atom pretty much is as famous in the UK as Chowder in the USA.
Trinity was produces by Cotswold Geckos out of Atom x Zuki.

Cooper and Trinity sure did not dissapoint!
When their first kid hatched I knew right away that it was the one that eventually would take over from his parents.

Meet Tanto! My first ever production.

Tanto pretty much is a clone of his dad with even more whitespot and the same pure white as his mom. His color is already closer to the bright orange that I am after aswell.

To improve on Tanto's color I wanted a female with bright orange. Thats why I got Akira.
Akira comes from Wanted Geckos out of El Dorado x Arizona.
El Dorado is from Lazy dragon (Poland) their best orange tricolor line (Pheonix line).

Meet Akira!

Tanto and Akira did not dissapoint either!
Also their first kid was the one that I ended up keeping to carry on the work

Meet Caraxes!

Caraxes has the exact patern color that I was hoping for. His white crest, sides and dorsal make it pop even more. What I want to improve on with the next generation is a cleaner (pitch black) base color, more white on the head and more white in general.

Talking about contrast, a beautiful white head with great structure and loads of white...

Meet Numenor!

Numenor is Felix x Eras (Frostline) from AJD Reptiles. Hoping that she passes on her white, and amazing head.
They both have an nice vertical patern.

Once the third generations hatches and I decided on a holdback, this page will be updated.

To be continued.
